Data Engineer – Price Data Team

Remuneration: Competitive salary plus bonus

This is an exciting opportunity for a Data Engineer to work within our Price Data team and collaborate with the Research teams globally. Role:

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to support the development of our data architecture and data pipelines for our core product, the pricing database. The ideal candidate will also be adept at creating compelling visuals to extract valuable operational information and business insights.

The business is currently going through a period of high growth and significant investment has been made to re-envision the core products and data platforms. This is an exciting time to join the team and help to shape the data management processes and value adding visuals going forward.

We look for a Data Engineer/Analyst who can help build our future price management platform. We need a candidate with a rigorous, committed approach to their work, able to meet short term operational deadlines whilst working towards a framework that supports the longer-term business strategy.

Candidates with 1- 3 years’ experience maximum.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain robust data architecture and pipelines.

Ensure the integrity and efficiency of data flow within our pricing database.

Create and optimize data models to support business intelligence and analytics.

Generate insightful visualizations to aid in operational decision-making as well as Business strategic planning.

Collaborate with a senior data scientist, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement data-driven solutions.

Design and implement scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to collect and store data from various sources.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data infrastructure and processes.

Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.

Education, Experience, and Competencies Required:

  • Statistics / AI / Computer science / Civil Engineering qualifications or significant equivalent professional experience
  • 1-3 years of data modelling experience. Knowledge of the CPG industry is an advantage.

Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Data Quality Assurance and Monitoring.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills alongside with analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions and processes.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work independently as required.
  • Proven success in delivering to agreed timelines and ability to work under tight deadline pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English.
